Media Links has today proudly marked the tenth anniversary of the Australian Digital Video Network, its ground-breaking collaboration with Telstra.
The company’s CEO Tsukasa Sugawara met with Telstra’s Head of APAC and ANZ, Karen Clark, at the InterBee conference in Japan, presenting the telco with a small token of appreciation to mark the anniversary.
“We are extremely proud of the partnership we’ve developed over the 10 years that we’ve been working together to develop this piece of innovative technology that forms the backbone of Australia’s broadcast industry,” Mr Sugawara said.
“The network is unique and incredibly robust, having delivered millions of broadcast hours with not a single dropout of signal. That’s quite an achievement, which stems from the excellent work our teams did in the design phase, the robust technology at the DVN’s core, and the deep knowledge of the people who continue to support and operate the platform.”
“The high level of technological and operational excellence we’ve achieved together over the past decade is something that we’re extremely proud of, and look forward to further developing into the future,” he said.
Media Links first partnered with Telstra Corporation, Australia’s largest telco, over a decade ago to address the calls of the country’s broadcast industry for a centralized, powerful, and reliable Digital Video Network.
A decade on, Telstra’s DVN is one of the largest single broadcast networks in the world, with Media Links’ technology deployed in over 600 locations across the country. The DVN offers broadcasters the ability to deliver live and uninterrupted 4K broadcast for sporting events, live to air news services, and other broadcast services with multi-redundancy and security.
“Media Links’ infrastructure forms a core component of Telstra’s Digital Video Network, supporting the 24/7 broadcast transmission of our Australian clients, including all metro and regional broadcasters covering critical news, sport and entertainment,” Ms Clark said.
“We celebrate this major milestone in our partnership with Media Links, which has enabled us to provide a unique capability that is unmatched in the industry. It’s wonderful to be working with dedicated partners that understand the unique needs of the industry and support the innovation needed in a changing landscape,” she said.
