UVTX/RX-J2K-2022 – 4 Port HD/SD/DVB-ASI/JPEG2000 Universal Video Modules with Compression

Versatile and widely deployed MD8000 line modules, the UVTX-J2K-2022 and UVRX-J2K-2022 are “Universal” four port video transmitter and receiver cards offering video compression and SMPTE 2022 compatibility. The modules support 3G/HD/SD-SDI, HD-SDTI, SDTI, DVB-ASI and 3D dual-link inputs / outputs. Using JPEG2000 compression, it delivers visually lossless video quality (4:2:2 10 bit JPEG2000 part 1) at significantly lower bitrates than uncompressed video. Compression rates for SD range from 24Mbs to 100Mbs, HD-SDI from 75Mbs to 250Mbs, 3G-SDI from 100Mbs to 500Mbs, 3D-HD-SDI from 150Mbs to 500Mbs, and 3D-3G-SDI from 200Mbs to 1000Mbs.

Together, these modules give customers high quality video with significantly reduced bandwidth, saving transport costs and allowing more channels to be sent across the network.

Compressed video can be sent over a variety of MD8000 trunk cards, including multiple 1GbE, 10GbE and/or OC-192/48/12/3 network interfaces. Hitless Switching supported for redundant path protection. Each encapsulated video service (HD/SD/DVB-ASI) can have a unique destination or multiple destinations in the network The SMPTE 425 Dual Link specification is supported for transport of 3D content, Level A 3D-HD-SDI & Level B 3D-3G-SDI.

Four auto-sensing inputs (Electrical or Optical) are provided with one monitor output and multiple format inputs supported simultaneously. The Encoder will pass up to 16 uncompressed audio channels along with the V-Ancillary data and time code. The modules provide TR101-ETR290 performance monitoring and real time analysis of each DVB-ASI stream.

In addition, Forward Error Correction (FEC) and Lossless/Hitless path protection switching occurs for extremely robust signal transport. Multiple format outputs are supported simultaneously.
