Kawasaki, Japan – May 18, 2026: A major Gulf-region broadcast transport provider has made a significant investment to modernize its media infrastructure, selecting Media Links to support the next phase of its network evolution. This multi-million-dollar project focuses on improving reliability today while preparing core transport systems for future growth across the region.
As part of the modernization initiative, the provider is deploying an IP-based architecture built on Media Links’ Xscend platform. Xscend supports both compressed and uncompressed media workflows, including ultra-low-latency JPEG-XS and SMPTE ST 2110, within a single, scalable system. Its modular design and hitless protection switching allow capacity to scale and workflows to evolve without compromising network stability or on-air reliability, giving the provider confidence that the platform can adapt as requirements change and new services are introduced over time.
The deployment will be delivered in collaboration with an authorized Media Links integration partner. Working alongside Media Links, the partner will support the implementation of the Xscend platform, associated third-party systems, and the network orchestration required to deliver a fully integrated, end-to-end solution across the full project scope.
The agreement also includes a multi-year support contract, providing access to Media Links’ engineering expertise and operational support. This ensures the infrastructure can be optimized over time as requirements change, bandwidth demands grow, and new services are introduced, without the need for disruptive redesigns.
Al Núñez, President of Media Links, Inc, commented: “This project is about more than deploying new technology. It’s about making sure the network operates reliably day in and day out, while still being ready for what comes next. Xscend was built for environments where uptime and precision really matter, and it allows operators to adopt advanced IP workflows like JPEG-XS and ST 2110 without adding unnecessary complexity or risk.”
As part of the overall solution, the project incorporates additional operational layers beyond transport alone. Together with the Xscend transport platform, this architecture brings centralized network management and orchestration into a single operational framework, simplifying day-to-day operations across complex, multi-system environments.
The deployment reflects Media Links’ experience supporting large-scale, high-performance media transport networks worldwide. From live events to international contribution infrastructures, Media Links delivers carrier-grade platforms and long-term support models designed to meet demanding operational requirements.
